According to Ministry of Health and Welfare, the accidental injury was the sixth leading cause of death in Taiwan in 2017. More importantly, accidental injury was the main cause of death among young people. Accident injuries are the leading cause of death among people aged 1 to 24, and the second most common cause of death from 25 to 44. Shuang-Ho hospital is the largest hospital in Zhonghe and Yonghe District. It has a population of 636,000. The regional type is mainly mixed with residential and commercial residents. The population commuting between Taipei and New Taipei City is very large, and population density is extremely high. So management of emergent trauma patients played important role in regional medical care. Our hospital set up a trauma team in 2010 and was certificated for high-level of emergency medical capabilities in 2013. Since 2017, we started trauma department in the department of surgery to negotiated multiple trauma with severe injury and coordinate multiple trauma-related medical units. Emergency treatment of multiple trauma, severe blunt injuries of chest and abdomen, gunshot wounds and blast injuries were our main responsibility. Trauma Team is on duty 24 hours a day, providing all-weather, uninterrupted emergency care.
