Introduction:
Department of Neurosurgery
Shuang-Ho hospital (SHH) is located at Zhong-He and Yong-He districts. It was a Build Operate Transfer (BOT) project supported by the Department of Health, Executive Yuan of Republic of China since 1999. It is also the first outsourcing of public hospital in Taiwan. On Dec. 18, 2003, Taipei Medical University was selected as the best applicant for this BOT project. As scheduled, Shuang-Ho hospital began operating on Jul. 1st, 2008, for providing medical service for 636 thousands people near Zhong-He and Yong-He area.
The Department of Neurosurgery was established since 2008, when SHH opening. The initial staffs include one dean, seven attending physicians, seven adjunctive attending physicians, four professional nurses and one administrative secretary. Since 2009, Department of Neurosurgery was accredited as the neurosurgery specialist training center and started training residents.
The goal of our department is to become a leading neurosurgery department, which excels in teaching, research and service all over the world
